I had a question on the Kitchen Renovation on a budget blog. You said “We peeled any remaining thermofoil off the cabinet and drawer fronts, leaving the MDF board exposed.” How did you do this?
It peeled off easily by itself. I guess the adhesive had deteriorated over the years. Start at a corner to test it. The thermofoil was only on the front of the cabinets and drawers so you will find the seam on the inside edges.
Hi! I really enjoy reading your blog and I nominated you for a Liebster Award. Here is my blog post with the info! http://moorethanamommy.wordpress.com/2013/04/06/liebster-award-love/
Have a wonderful weekend!
You are so very kind!! Thank you ❤
Hi Kelly! I was so excited when I saw your blog picture in Pinterest!!!!! We have the exact same kitchen layout and I was looking at my imagination come to life. I have talked my husband into letting me “be brave”, taken off work the entire week of July 4th, and I’m currently building an idea book to redo my kitchen DIY style. What color brown did you paint your kitchen and dining room. I want a faded coral/salmon color for my kitchen redo but love the brown you used in your kitchen/mommy area and would like it for my LR and hallway. We also have a cookie cutter house with pale yellow walls and after 13 years and constantly wiping clean the handprints from 2 daughters, I am ready for a new color. Thank you so much for your inspiration and post.

Melissa–we used a Valspar color called “Hat Box Brown” (from Lowes). We painted our kitchen almost 7 years ago, so I’m not sure if they still have it. Let me know if you need sons help…I can always find colors that are similar. Good luck with your project!! Let us know how it goes 🙂
